DACA - Deffered Action for Childhood Arrivals Qualifications To qualify for DACA and its renewal, there are specific criteria that must be met: The applicant must be younger than 31 years as of the date June 15, 2012. The applicant must have arrived in the United States before the age of 16. The applicant must maintain continuous residency in the United States from June 15, 2007 with at least 6 tests per year. Present proof of the applicant's physical presence within the United States on June 15, 2007. This proof must also include the period of time that the request for deferred action is made. The applicant should not already have legal status as of June 15, 2012. Additional qualifications include attending school at the time of the application. Alternatively, the applicant could already have obtained a general education certificate, or GED. Honorable service in the US Armed Forces or US Coast Guard will also qualify the applicant.
